Objective
This policy outlines the procedure for applying for financial support for junior and senior athletes selected for N. Ireland/Ireland individual and/or team events (e.g., Cross country, London mini marathon, ultra marathon).
Omagh Harriers A.C. is committed to supporting its members by providing funding/contribution, up to a maximum of £160.00 per athlete per calendar year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be current members of Omagh Harriers A.C.
- Funding is available exclusively for official representation at national events.
- Applications must be submitted within the specified timeframe of four weeks in advance of the event in which the funding is sought.
Application Process
- Submission:
- Athletes must complete and submit a funding application email, providing details of the event, associated costs, and proof of selection for representation.
- Applications must be submitted no later than four weeks before the event.
- If selection occurs at short notice, applications must be submitted within one week of notification of selection.
- Approval:
- The committee will review all applications within two weeks of submission or within a reasonable period thereafter.
- Approval will be based on eligibility, the number of applications received, and available funding.
- Decisions will be communicated to applicants in writing.
Reimbursement Process
- Approved funding will be reimbursed after the event upon submission of receipts for eligible expenses, including travel, accommodation, and entry fees.
- Receipts must be submitted to the committee within two weeks after the event.
- Reimbursement will be processed via bank transfer or cheque within two weeks of receipt verification.
- A maximum of £160 per athlete per calendar year is available.
- Funding is non-transferable and cannot exceed the actual costs incurred.
- Failure to submit receipts within the specified timeframe may result in forfeiture of funding.
Review and Monitoring
This policy will be reviewed annually by the committee to ensure it aligns with the club’s objectives and financial capacity.
