Safeguarding / Photo & Video Use

While safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone within the running club (led by the whole committee), having designated Safeguarding Officers ensures the club has dedicated people with the primary responsibility for managing and reporting concerns about members at risk. They are trusted people to speak to about a concern and they will manage any concern raised in an appropriate way. Their responsibility will be to ensure the right information is shared with the right people at the right time.

Our Safeguarding Officers for 2026 are Mrs Roisin McCullagh (female) and Mr Martin McIvor (male), both of whom have undertaken appropriate training for the role.

Members who wish to reach out to either Safeguarding Officer can do so in person at any club activity, or by locating their contact details via the club Whatsapp group.

Photo & Video Use

Photographs / video of members may be taken from time to time during activities for a variety of uses. For example:

  • Coaches may take photo / video in order to discuss form.
  • During events to provide a record of the activity to post on social media.
  • Submitted to the press to publicise club activities.
  • To promote the club. For example photos are used on the club website – the banner and activities within the pages.

We will only authorise the use of images of runners in suitable dress. Any photo / video posted must focus on the sport, not the person and be dignified.

You can opt out of appearing in social media, website and other publicity material at any time by emailing omaghharriers@outlook.com , clearly stating your full name.

If you do not wish to be photographed at an event, you are responsible for notifying the camera operator of your opt out status. Failure to do so may result in your inclusion in a photograph or recording and will be treated as a release, allowing Omagh Harriers A.C. to utilise the photograph or video recording accordingly.

Please note that this agreed practice only applies to activities and events led by Omagh Harriers A.C. and the club cannot accept any responsibility for digital media decisions by other clubs and organisations. For any events outside of the club, it is your own responsibility to declare your wishes to the organisers.
